Black Sea and Azov Sea - which is better for relaxation? Which sea is better: Black or Mediterranean

Holidays on the Black and Azov Seas are popular among Russians and Ukrainians. Leisure on cozy beaches is available to almost every working person. On the shores of the Black and Azov Seas there are a large number of resorts and recreation centers.

In most cases, when organizing a vacation on the Black Sea, people choose Anapa, Tuapse, Gelendzhik, Sochi and Crimea. Salty water and clean, well-groomed beaches attract many tourists from all over the world. You can relax on the Sea of Azov in Yeisk, Berdyansk, Taganrog, Novoazovsk, Urzuf and Yalta.

The general availability of a beach holiday puts a person before a choice, and in order to make it, you need to decide whether the Black Sea or the Azov Sea is healthier. After all, vacations don’t happen very often and you wouldn’t want to waste them on meaningless everyday life.

Black and Azov Seas. Differences

  • The Black Sea coast is mostly pebbly and rocky, and finding a comfortable sandy beach here is quite difficult. On the Sea of Azov you can relax on the “golden” sands. Basically, the coast of the Azov Sea is white-golden in color thanks to small pieces of shells. It is most comfortable for children and adults to relax on the beaches of the Azov Sea.
  • The water in the Black Sea is blue and very clear. In Azov it is greenish, and this is especially noticeable in shallow water or after small storms. The water in the Black Sea is much clearer than in the Azov Sea.
  • The biggest advantage of the Sea of Azov is considered to be healing mud, which is not found in the Black Sea. It is for them that tourists from all over the world come to the sea.
  • The Sea of Azov is considered the shallowest in the world. Its average depth is about 7.5 meters. However, finding such a depth will be problematic - mostly shallow water. This has its advantages - it’s comfortable to relax with children and, if necessary, you can learn to swim yourself. The Black Sea is quite deep and various water sports are common here.
  • The Azov Sea warms up much faster than the Black Sea and this is due to its shallow depth. The beach season begins much earlier than on the Black Sea. You can relax here comfortably already at the beginning of June.
  • On the Black Sea it is enough to find a secluded place - there are a lot of vacationers. They occupy almost the entire coast. They are quite noisy and host active sporting events. There is no such turmoil on the Sea of Azov.
  • The Sea of Azov has fresh-salt water. Black - salty. Tourists who want to improve their health with salty sea water choose the Black Sea.
  • The Black Sea never freezes, and the Azov Sea is covered with a thick layer of ice in winter.

When choosing the Black or Azov Sea, safety should be given priority first of all. For a holiday with children, it is best to choose the Azov Sea. Shallow water, attractions and a calm atmosphere will have a positive effect on the body.

If you like noisy companies, water sports, and you also need a fairly large depth, choose the Black Sea. There are quite comfortable, well-equipped beaches and a lot of entertainment for young people and adults.

Black Sea, Sea of Azov... I studied the similarities and differences between them on vacation. Summer has begun not long ago, and I have already returned from vacation. Since I have been living on the Black Sea for many years, and more specifically, I went on vacation to the Azov Sea in the city of Yeisk.

I liked the city right away. He reminded me a little of Adler twenty years ago: you walk to the sea along a quiet street, picking cherries and mulberries as you go. Nobody swears. Beauty! Once upon a time, on our way to the sea, you could pinch off a fig, a medlar or a bunch of grapes. And here you can even meet a goat. 🙂

But that’s where the similarities end. For example, private houses in Adler are, although sometimes luxurious, just houses. In Yeisk, many houses cannot be called anything other than historical heritage. The city has preserved a large number of merchant houses of the 19th century: with porches, turrets, laid out kokoshniks and other similar things.

I don’t want to scare lovers of modern architecture: there are also plenty of new microdistricts with multi-storey buildings in Yeisk.

I cannot remain silent about two more things that shocked me in Yeisk. First, everyone sits in Yeisk minibuses. The driver takes exactly as many people on the minibus as he has seats. That is, you do not hang between heaven and earth as in Sochi minibuses, but calmly look at your favorite city through the window. The second is even more incredible. Remember Mikhail Zadornov: “Now take in more air into your chest...”? So - dial - they have no traffic jams! None. Never. At all.

And now, the promised 10 differences. Of course, I cannot judge the entire Black Sea or Azov coast. I judge the sea in two cities - Yeisk and Sochi.

Black Sea. Sea of Azov

1. The beaches in Yeisk are golden-white. This color is given to them by sand and small pieces of shells, resulting from many years of destruction of shells by waves.

In Sochi, the beaches are mostly pebble and rocky, with sand inserts here and there. This sand is called silver, but, in my opinion, it is loudly said: ordinary gray sand.

2 . ☼ The water in the Black Sea on a fine day has a color from blue to cobalt blue. This is explained by the fact that sea water absorbs blue and violet rays of the spectrum to a lesser extent than red and orange ones.

When the sea is shallow, then along with blue and violet, red and orange rays are also reflected. It turns out green. Therefore, the Sea of Azov is greenish. Abundantly developed phytoplankton also adds greenery to the Sea of Azov.

3. ☼ However, the water in the Sea of Azov is not entirely green. Rather greenish-yellow, and when there is wind, the color of coffee with milk. The color is determined by the agitation of bottom silts and sand particles. The Sea of Azov is muddy. Its transparency ranges from 0.5 to 8 m.

☼ The Black Sea is much more transparent. For comparison, the maximum recorded transparency of the Black Sea was 77 m. Unfortunately, this was not here in Sochi, but near the Synod.

Sea in Sochi

4. ☼ The turbidity of the Azov Sea does not particularly upset anyone, since the mud responsible for this turbidity has a beneficial effect on the human body. On the Azov beaches there are many “dark” people, smeared from head to toe with healing mud.

☼ On the Black Sea coast there are “dark people” of a different kind: African students working part-time as Papuans.

5. ☼ The Sea of Azov is the shallowest sea in the world. Its average depth is 8 meters. But I never managed to reach these 8 meters. You walk and walk, and the water is still up to your waist.

☼ The greatest depth of the Black Sea is 2212 m.

6. ☼ Due to its shallow depth, the Azov Sea warms up faster than the Black Sea.

☼ When I left, at the beginning of June, the water in the Black Sea was still cool, but in the Azov Sea it was just right.

7. ☼ Another advantage of shallow water is safety. Almost 90% of vacationers on the Azov Sea are parents or grandmothers with children.

☼ On the Black Sea, the contingent of vacationers is much wider. Everyone rests here, including the conductors and Olympstroy builders who “dropped in for a minute.”

8. ☼ If lambs start to appear on the Black Sea, you can’t escape them.

☼ Yeysk is located on a spit. There you can move from one side of the spit to the other, from beach to beach: the direction of the wind will change, the lambs will disappear.

9 . ☼ The water in the Sea of Azov is almost not salty. I tried it myself. 🙂

☼ In the Black Sea, the water is saltier and smells of iodine.

10. I have not been to the Sea of Azov in winter. But I must have point No. 10!

☼ The Sea of Azov freezes in winter.

☼ The Black Sea never freezes.

Here you go. I told everything I saw. And you choose for yourself where to go: to Black Sea or Azovskoe.

Summer... Where is it better to relax, on the Black Sea or on the Azov Sea. This article is compiled solely from reviews of vacationers spending their holidays on the Black or Azov Sea.

The vacation criteria were as follows: clean sea, water temperature sufficient for swimming, unpolluted beach, affordable housing and market prices, entertainment for children and adults.

- If you look at the price, then a vacation on the Black Sea coast will cost you an order of magnitude more than on the Azov coast. If we talk about the warmth of the sea, then last year it was abnormally cold in the Black Sea.

For several years in a row, when the child was small, I went in June to the Sea of Azov, to the city of Yeisk, to a private apartment. The sea is shallow and warms up faster than the Black Sea. Everything suited us...

- I would recommend the village of Blagoveshchenskaya on the Black Sea. This is Anapa district. The beauty is such that there will be no more questions about where to go. Prices are lower than in Golubitskaya, the beach is shallow, the sea is clean and transparent. Almost every morning you can see dolphins literally 20-50 meters from the shore. Of course, the Black Sea is not as warm as the Azov Sea, but it is clean, beautiful and relatively cheap housing.

- Last year in August I was in Anapa - I got seaweed. This year I was going to Crimea.

- I wouldn’t go on vacation to the Sea of Azov, but many people like it. There is no entertainment in Azov; there is nowhere to spend time in the evening (for me personally). There are no such embankments and nothing else on the embankments. But who needs what? With a large group (so as not to die of boredom) you can go to Azov.

This year I had the opportunity to compare the sea in Arkhipo-Osipovka (Black) and Peresyp-Golubitskaya (Azov). Comparison in favor of Azovsky. Much cleaner, warmer. The month of June.

- I never got bored in Golubitskaya. Of course, the village is not a city, but you can go to a cafe in the evening and sit. New hotels are being built and the infrastructure is gradually developing. But I never considered Azov as a long vacation, and so, going for a short ride would be very good.

In July we were in Golubitskaya on the Azov Sea and in Vityazevo on the Black Sea. In Golubitskaya the sea is cleaner and warmer, but it’s boring and the food is tasteless and expensive, grocery stores are also few and expensive, and in Vityazevo there is a wide variety of cafes and canteens and in general life is in full swing, but the sea is full of algae and there are too many people on the beach.

- The cleanest sea in Abkhazia (pebbles), we were driving a car, and this is how you enter Abkhazia, drive a little - and it’s like a strip running through the sea, towards Adler it’s muddy, and towards Abkhazia it’s turquoise. The dirtiest place is Sochi. And the muddiest thing is Azov.

The Azov region is a good place to relax with children, it is quiet, calm, the climate is very good, suitable for children who are often ill. We did not have any acclimatization (11.9 years and 3 years). We were there in June. The sea is cool at first. Warms up to a comfortable temperature after the 15th. Although mine didn’t come out of the sea even at the beginning of June.

- The Black Sea is not close to the Azov Sea, the Azov Sea is shallow, warms up quickly, but is dirty. It is best to choose small resorts. Therefore, I advise you Nebug, Novomikhailovsky or Plyakho. These three villages are the best option for families with children. I love the beach most of all; we relax there on the beach of the Orlyonok camp. Nebug is also a good village, there is a water park there. In general, small villages also have a lot of attractions and dolphinariums. And if you want generally cheap, then you should go to Makops. Only there the infrastructure is absolutely zero. But it's quiet and cheap. And for entertainment you can take a minibus to the neighboring large resorts.

- In Khosta and Dzhubga the water and beaches are very dirty. I liked it in Lazarevsky.

- The Sea of Azov is very shallow, compared to resorts on the Black Sea, it’s cheaper to relax on the Sea of Azov.

Go to Crimea: Feodosia, Sudak, Kanaka - pebbles, mountains, and if there is sand, then Evpatoria. Beregovoe, Primorsky, and from there very close to the Sea of Azov (25 km), the village of Kamenka and Arabatskaya Strelka, where it is not shallow at all, but, unlike other beaches, there are almost no people. The shore and bottom are clean sand.

- Last year my husband and I vacationed in Beregovoe, near Feodosia, and really enjoyed it. The sea is clean, the shore too, the food is excellent - tasty and inexpensive.

My parents and I traveled all over the coast, from Sochi to Gelendzhik. And I can say with a guarantee that the best place is Olginka.

- We had a rest on the Sea of Azov in Kuchugury, a beautiful warm and clean sea, we lived a 3-minute walk in a mini-hotel, all the conditions. 25 minutes drive - and you are on the spit, the confluence of two seas, the Black and Azov. Beautiful. Liman....beautiful. Indescribable beauty. Also 10 minutes away...a volcano with healing mud. I am delighted with the Azov coast, and there are also crayfish and Zhiguli (real) beer!!!

We went to Bulgaria by car. The same Black Sea, but the beaches cannot be compared. Even the water in the sea is cleaner! On Azovsky we were in the village of Ilyich, I liked the village itself: very quiet, democratic morals.

- Sochi is one big construction site, traffic jams, narrow beaches with pebbles and a huge number of people... Everything is expensive…

I've been to many places. My opinion is only the Black Sea. I really liked Crimea, you can find housing based on money, comfort, etc. I liked Sudak, I was fascinated by Yalta.....

- And if it’s cheap and cheerful, then Koblevo is next to Odessa.

At the moment, it will be expensive to go to Ukraine by car, gasoline there is 52 rubles per liter, so now we are looking at Russia.

- I live in Azov, but I go to Chernoe to relax and swim))) Although it’s not bad for children here...

It all depends on what you expect from your holiday and from the sea. I heard on the beach: “What a terrible sea, it’s immediately deep.” This is 5-10 meters away (Black). But for me, this is better than walking half a kilometer along the sea, then still flopping and scratching your stomach on the bottom (Azov). And the purity of such a sea raises questions.

- We went with the whole family. We drove through the entire Black Sea coast. Kabardinka is the best option. You can also visit Krasnaya Gorka, the border with Abkhazia. Beautiful nature, prices are a bit expensive, but in order to climb the Putin ski lifts into the mountains to a height of 1500 meters above sea level………..

Last year we were in Feodosia, I absolutely didn’t like it... The dust, the sea was dirty, and there was some kind of desert around... My husband and I visited Lazarevka twice, we liked it there. Yalta is cool, but the beaches are small and the sun sets behind the mountains early... Anapa is not an acquired taste, yes, cool sandy beaches, but the sea is not ice.

- I was in Anapa - super, discos, wines, accommodation for every taste, the sea is beautiful, but mosquitoes..., in Tuapse it’s average, pebble beach..., in Odessa I was - the color of the sea is not very good, the city is like in the center of Moscow, very beautiful and interesting, but it was hard to go to museums in the heat, although I liked everything about it...

- Azovskoye is disgusting, dirty, petty.

- I was both on the Azov Sea and the Black Sea... And I liked it everywhere.

Been there and there. The Black Sea is cleaner than the Azov Sea. I can’t say anything bad about the Sea of Azov, except that throughout my vacation I was treated for conjunctivitis due to the sandy water in the sea. I don’t remember what kind of city it was, but it was very sad, no entertainment, some kind of park with broken rides.

- I live next to both the Azov and Black Seas. I go there and there every year. I only recommend the Black Sea to everyone. First of all, it's clean. Secondly, what nature is around, what clean air! Even if the weather is bad, you can use the services of excursion bureaus and visit a lot of interesting places. And on the Sea of Azov, what do people do when the weather is bad? They drink vodka and shake at discos. Because there is nothing else to do. But holidays in Azov are cheaper. I think this is its advantage

Of course, Black! My child suffers from various problems (asthma, neurodermatitis), so all the doctors only send him to Black or Dead. They don’t even mention Azov. And we have the opportunity to go to Azovskoye for free, but it won’t do any good.

- In Russia, they are both a little dirty, Black is cleaner because of the pebbles, but for lovers of sandy beaches there is nothing better than Azov, however, you should relax not in Yeisk, but in the Temryuk area, I myself have already been to 4 times the village of Kuchugury is a great place!!! the sea is cool, there are much fewer people than at the advertised resorts, and at night there are places to go and relax.

What is the difference between the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea? The differences between them are cardinal. It’s easier to say what the similarities between these bodies of water are. Perhaps, only in one thing: the Azov and Black Seas, connected by the Kerch Strait, form a single Black Sea-Azov basin, which in turn is an internal basin of the Atlantic Ocean.

Geographical position

The Sea of Azov had quite a few names, the most famous are Blue ocean And Russian Sea. The current name – Azovskoye comes from the city of Azov, located on the east coast. The reservoir is located in the northeastern part of the Black Sea region.

Due to the fact that only the small Kerch Peninsula separates it from the Black Sea, some scientists are inclined to consider the Sea of Azov as a kind of Black Sea gulf, its area is 37600 km2. The largest dimensions in length and width are 343x231 km, respectively.

This sea is the shallowest in the world. On average, the depth fluctuates at the level 5-7 meters, maximum depths do not exceed 15 meters. This is due to the extremely small volume of water - about 256 km3. The sea has 16 bays and estuaries, among them the largest are Taganrog- in the eastern part and Sivash Bay - in the western part. A characteristic feature of the Sea of Azov is a fairly large number of coastal spits. There are no islands, only shallows. Only two countries are washed by the waters of the Sea of Azov - Russia and Ukraine.

The maritime boundaries have not yet been determined. The sea is entirely located in the steppe zone, on flat terrain. Volcanic rocks on the shores of the Sea of Azov do not reach the surface, which is why the coast along almost its entire length is muddy or sandy. There are small outcrops of limestone on the coast of the Taman and Kerch Peninsulas. The river flow is formed by two large rivers - the Don and the Kuban, as well as many small rivers.

The Black Sea is approximately larger than the Sea of Azov 11 times, it is called Black because of the high content of hydrogen sulfide at a depth of more than 120 meters. Metal objects falling to this depth become black. In the northern part of the sea is the Crimean Peninsula, and, being part of the Crimean Peninsula, the Kerch Peninsula. The water surface area is 422000 km2.

Length from west to east – 1130 km, from North to South - 600 km. This body of water is one of the deepest in the world's oceans. The average depth is 1270 m, the maximum reaches 2245 m, volume - 547000 km3. There are more than 40 bays in the sea. The largest bays are Tamansky, Sinopsky, Odessky, Karkinitsky and Kalanitsky. There is only one relatively large island in the sea - Zmeiny. The Black Sea washes the coasts of 6 states.

In the northwestern part - this is mainly the coast of Ukraine and Romania - the sea has gently sloping shores and sandy beaches. The shores are composed of sedimentary rocks. The western coast, which borders Bulgaria, along with gently sloping shores, also has rocky areas, due to the Balkan Mountains. The Turkish coast in the south is almost entirely rocky, as it is backed by the Pontic Mountains. The Caucasus Range is located on the southeastern and eastern coasts, which is why the shores here are also rocky. The river flow is formed by the Danube, Southern Bug and Dnieper. In addition, there are a large number of small rivers.

In the southwestern part, the sea is connected through the Bosphorus Strait to the Sea of Marmara. This strait passes through Turkish territory.

Salinity

Due to the small volume of the Sea of Azov, the composition of its water largely depends on river flow. In essence, the water of the Azov Sea is Black Sea water mixed with the water of the flowing rivers. On average, salinity is low - in the central part it is about 13 ppm. In the Taganrog Bay, the water is absolutely fresh, since it is into this bay that the Don flows, in addition, the Taganrog Bay is located at a considerable distance from the Black Sea. As you approach the Kerch Strait, salinity increases, reaching 17 ppm.

The Black Sea is characterized by a higher level of salt content - 18 ppm on the surface and 22 ppm at a depth of more than 500 meters, but still, in comparison with other bodies of water in the world's oceans, the level of salt content in the Black Sea is low. The composition of the water is influenced by the Sea of Marmara, but since the salinity of the Sea of Marmara is higher, its waters are heavier and go deeper.

Fish stocks

The fishing value of the Azov Sea is incredibly high. Until the 50s of the 20th century, in terms of fish stocks it was the most productive body of water in the world. Azov sturgeon and sterlet were unique in taste, but the hydraulic construction that began in the 50s on the Don and Kuban had a detrimental effect on the reproduction of fish. The presence of dams has blocked access to spawning grounds, and poaching causes terrible damage to fish stocks.

However, the water world of the Azov Sea contains about 80 species of fish- These are both marine and freshwater fish. Today, annual production is about 30,000 tons.

The Black Sea is characterized by rather small fish stocks. Salt water is unsuitable for freshwater fish. As for marine fish, the situation is the opposite - marine fish do not tolerate the rather low salt content in Black Sea water. In addition, due to the presence of hydrogen sulfide, at a depth of more than 100 meters there is no fauna at all. More than 180 species of fish have been recorded in the Black Sea, but no more than 30 of them are commercially available. Unlike the Azov Sea, mammals live in the Black Sea - 3 species of dolphins. In addition to fish, mussels and algae are also of commercial importance.

Ports and resort areas

The Sea of Azov does not have convenient bays necessary for navigation, but its main disadvantage is shallow water. Azov ports are located in the cities of Berdyansk, Mariupol, Taganrog, Rostov-on-Don, Yeysk, Temryuk. For the above reasons, large ocean-going ships cannot enter the ports of the Azov Sea - this determines the small cargo turnover of the ports and their poor development.

The popularity of the Azov Sea resorts is also low. The reasons are the opacity of the water and the monotony of the coastal landscape. Hence the poor development of resort infrastructure.

Due to the deep water, the ports of the Black Sea are characterized by large cargo turnover. The Black Sea coast of all countries has 43 ports. The largest ports are Novorossiysk, Odessa, Constanta, Varna, Trabzon, Batumi.

The mild climate, natural beauty and clear sea water make the Black Sea resorts very popular. The infrastructure of the resorts is relatively developed - this attracts a significant number of vacationers.

When going on vacation and selecting a region for travel, tourists in most cases choose a destination based on the prestige of the resort, the availability of attractions, the number of vacationers, travel costs and other important parameters.

However, quite often people lose sight of specific weather conditions, namely the impact of climate and related components on health and well-being.

As a result, this causes not only discomfort and inconvenience, but also the fact that rest is not possible at all. And taking into account the fact that today the Black and Mediterranean Seas are considered one of the most popular tourist destinations, we want tell you which sea is better: the Black or the Mediterranean.

The answer to this question will help you choose the place where it will be most pleasant to be, and the trip itself will bring pleasure and only the most pleasant emotions and impressions.

We will provide a comparative description of the Black and Mediterranean seas, guided by the following parameters:

  • Water composition
  • Water purity
  • Beach cleanliness
  • Beach season
  • Weather
  • Medicinal properties
  • Availability of islands

Let's start.

Very useful when traveling:

  • A free service for tourists from TravelJay, which allows you to remember what you need to take on your trip.
  • The site generates a list depending on where and for what purpose you are going. Only the things you need go into the suitcase.
  • You can download the list to your computer or keep records of the taken or prepared list directly on the website.
  • The service is available 8 days a week, 25 hours from the main menu, via the " " link or from the picture on the right

Water composition

The composition of the Black Sea water is identical to the water of the World Ocean, but it contains a smaller amount of minerals: approximately 18 grams per 1 liter. Despite this, the total number of useful elements in it is 79, and therefore it is considered suitable for balneotherapy. It should also be noted that the Black Sea is not very salty. But the Mediterranean Sea is highly salty, and in terms of salt content it is second only to the Red and Dead Seas. Thanks to the high concentration of this element, you can swim in the Mediterranean Sea for a long time and without much effort. Also, its water has a beneficial effect on the body and soothes muscles. Based on the composition of the water, both seas can be called beneficial for humans.

Water purity

The concept of water purity is a relative concept. At first glance, the Mediterranean Sea seems more beautiful and clean; it attracts with its blue color. In the water of the Black Sea, leaden shades can often be traced. The reasons for this are its greater depth, lower salt concentration and the presence of a hydrogen sulfide layer starting at depth, which in turn affects the reflective indicators. In addition, due to hydrogen sulfide, the Black Sea does not have such a rich underwater world. More specifically, it lacks microorganisms that purify water, such as mussels and jellyfish. Thus, we can conclude that the Mediterranean Sea is somewhat cleaner than the Black Sea.

Very useful for planning money while traveling:

  • A free Traveljay service for tourists, which allows you to plan travel expenses.
  • The website generates a list of planned expenses, which you can adjust at any convenient time.
  • You can record actual costs from a trip, which can later be compared with planned costs.
  • The service is available 25 hours, 8 days a week from the main menu or via the " " link or the picture on the right.

Beach cleanliness

The cleanliness of beaches is an indicator that largely depends on the attitude of the authorities towards it. It is not for nothing that the beaches of the Mediterranean Sea have gained the reputation of being very clean, because the administration of coastal cities and the owners of private territories try to keep “their” lands clean and tidy. The staff systematically removes garbage on the shores, not only what tourists leave behind, but also what is thrown out by the waves. On the beaches of the Black Sea the situation is different, because People do not show much concern for the state of the environment. And when the tourist season ends, both coastal areas and sea water become dirty. Which sea is better: the Black or the Mediterranean - in this case, only you can decide.

Beach season

Many people are interested in the question of which sea is warmer. The situation with the beach season is as follows: its beginning on the Black Sea is considered to be May, and its end is October. In May, the water temperature reaches +16°C and at its peak rises to +26°C, gradually decreasing towards the end of autumn. One more feature should be noted here: there are a lot of cold currents in the Black Sea, as a result of which, even in the warm season, the water temperature off the coast can be only +16°C or even less. The Mediterranean Sea is significantly different in terms of temperature: it is not just warmer than the Black Sea - by April its temperature reaches +22°C, and in the hottest period +28°C. You can swim and indulge in water activities there until the end of November. The conclusions suggest themselves.

Weather

The weather conditions of the Black and Mediterranean are very similar: both areas experience dry and hot summers and wet and warm winters. The presented characteristics apply to almost all regions of these seas. In the summer, the weather is often clear but muggy. Rain is very infrequent and the sea is mostly calm. In winter, due to northern winds, the air temperature drops sharply, and strong winds rage on the seas. For these reasons, the peak tourist seasons, both on the Mediterranean and on the Black Sea, begin and end at approximately the same time (as has already become clear: with a gap of about a month).

Medicinal properties

Here it is important to say that the Black Sea is rich in all kinds of bays and bays, where a large amount of mud with medicinal properties accumulates. Travelers have the opportunity to independently arrange treatment and preventive procedures for themselves, which normalizes metabolism and has a beneficial effect on the general condition of the body. The Mediterranean Sea cannot boast of such features, but despite this, many resort areas can also offer their guests a fairly wide range of therapeutic and recreational activities, such as taking mud baths, diving in mineral springs, etc. In this case, it’s up to you to decide which sea is better: the Black or the Mediterranean.

Availability of islands

Today it’s no secret that the Mediterranean Sea is a real treasure trove of islands, most of which have well-developed infrastructure, attractions and many leisure options. They are also attractive because there is no such heat as on the mainland, and the beach areas are considered one of the most environmentally friendly, even by European standards. On the Black Sea the situation is exactly the opposite, because islands are a rarity here.

In conclusion, we can only note that, unlike Mediterranean resorts, located mostly on the coasts of European countries, domestic resorts can offer tourists accommodation, recreation and leisure for absolutely any budget. And a great variety of places to relax allows you to find exactly what you need. Otherwise, for each person the question of which sea is better: the Black or the Mediterranean is purely individual and depends on personal preferences and needs.

We wish you to relax only in this way and only where your soul and body truly feel good!
