The combination of an uncompromising guitar sound with the melody and femininity of the lyrics, unusual for Russian rock, has already discouraged more than one critic. However, more and more often in critical analyzes one comes across, along with the tired comparisons with Zhanna Bichevskaya and Shania Twain, expressions like: “She is a real Russian singer” or “This is a Russian Song.”

The name of Yuta became famous less than two years ago, after the release of the album “Hops and Malt,” and her path is a calm and confident development: in the fall of 2002, according to the results of polls conducted by Gallup media, Yuta entered the top hundred of the most famous Russian artists, and a year later , the popular music publication "Soundtrack" MK, summing up the results of 2003, called Utah "one of the very best" in the categories "Soloist of the Year", "Group of the Year" and "Top Sexy" already among the recognized stars of the "first echelon".

But the biggest reward for Utah was an incident in the city of Yaroslavl, when after a concert an unfamiliar girl literally broke through to her behind the stage to tell her how Utah’s song once kept her from taking the last step and saved her life. “I have read letters more than once in which people admitted that one of my songs (each has their own) helped them in difficult times, but this time I saw a living person, looked into his eyes - probably precisely for the sake of such moments myself worth living and working," says Utah.

And here is a new album, which was recorded from September 2003 to March 2004 at the Soyuz, Polyfon, and Andrey Bochko studios. The sound engineers were Andrey Kucherenko ("Soyuz"), Samvel Oganesyan ("Polyfon") and Sergey Bolshakov.

The singer couldn’t decide on the name of the album for a very long time. Initially, it looked like “Once upon a time,” then it was transformed into “Tit and Crane,” and the last transformation happened quite recently and the fault was none other than Diana Arbenina. One of the title tracks of the future album is dedicated to her. The song "Girl", which also gave the final name to the record, was written under the strong impression of the Night Snipers concert, which Utah once attended. She recalls that she stood there for the entire hour and a half with her mouth open and eyes full of twenty kopecks, after which she came home and lines immediately formed in her head.

However, this is not the only and, one might even say, outdated story about how the record got its name. Utah is an unpredictable girl who is prone to change. Lately, to all questions regarding the title of the album, she answers that it was born on tour. “In the dressing room, my musicians told extremely obscene jokes, without even noticing me,” says the singer. “Then I raised my voice: “Guys, I’m a girl!!!” “You’re not a girl - you’re a musician!” snapped Ilya Volodin, my guitarist.”

Childhood and youth

Anna Vladimirovna Semina was born in Sverdlovsk (now Yekaterinburg) in the summer of 1979 into a creative family. At the same age, Anya began to sing, shocking her mother: her daughter gave preference not to the classics, but to chanson, revered in the working-class quarter of Sverdlovsk, where the family lived.

His passion for music was not the only one: Utah attended the swimming pool and rhythmic gymnastics classes. But the genes won: the daughter focused on musical creativity. The girl became so interested in the piano that she continued to master the instrument in the capital’s Gnesinka. Anna entered the school without having completed her musical education in piano. Her family did not believe that she would be able to succeed in this field, but Anya demonstrated amazing determination and hard work: the piano department of the school named after. After graduating from music school, Utah again surprised her family: she lost interest in the piano and took up jazz vocals. The girl took her first steps in this musical direction in her third year at Gnesinka. 2005 turned out to be a breakthrough year for Utah: the singer was recognized as a film composer. The first soundtrack that made Utah famous was “Youth in Boots” for the TV series “Soldiers”. The first sign was followed by others: for the series, the composer wrote the soundtracks “Once upon a time” and “That same girl.” The songs were included in radio rotation. In 2015, Utah gave fans the collection “My Beloved. The best songs,” wrote music for the multi-part melodrama “Family Values” and participated in concerts in Donetsk and Lugansk, supporting the residents of the unrecognized republics. Personal life

The affair with film producer Oleg Osipov began in 2004. After two years of dating, Yuta and Osipov got married, Anna took her husband’s last name, which she still bears today. In 2007, Utah gave birth to her husband’s first child, whom the couple named Anatoly. Three years later, twin girls Katya and Masha appeared. Grief came to the family when the babies were one year old. Oleg Osipov died suddenly: the cause of death was cardiosclerosis. Previously, the producer was diagnosed with a heart attack.

Utah recovered from the blow and returned to creativity. Her mother helped her survive the tragedy, without whom, according to the singer, she would not have been able to cope with grief. Son Anatoly sat down at the piano at the age of 7 and composed his first music. Yuta claims that the boy has a mathematical mind and is a copy of his dad. And Katya and Masha draw beautifully.
