How to draw easy anime. Anime drawing lessons for beginners

The concept of "anime" comes from Japanese cartoons, but nowadays it takes on a broader meaning. The word “anime” refers to cartoons, comics, characters, drawing techniques and much more. Fans of this style create groups in in social networks, on specialized forums they discuss how a person who has no artistic talent can learn to draw anime.

It is known that Japanese anime cartoons are aimed at teenage and adult audiences.

Although anime arose relatively recently, namely at the beginning of the 20th century, certain laws have developed in drawing techniques that are closely related to the traditions of Japanese art.

The characteristic features of the visual in general, as well as cartoons and comics in particular, are the planar orientation and graphic nature of images.

To understand how to learn to draw anime without artistic skills, you need to think in general terms.

One of the main rules is sketchiness. have a round face, large eyes, small mouth and nose. There are diagrams on how to draw anime, namely: body parts, emotions, movements. All this is strictly regulated.

The second rule is planar orientation. An anime image should not be three-dimensional. clear outline, there are only falling shadows that do not create much volume.

Similar laws for depicting people have existed in traditional graphics and painting in Japan for many millennia.

Since anyone can learn to draw anime, all you need is desire.

Step-by-step instructions will tell you in detail how to learn to draw anime girls.

Start drawing anime with a pencil. Swipe smooth circle, divide it into four equal segments by vertical and horizontal lines. A vertical line will help draw the nose, and a horizontal line will help draw the lines of the eyes, eyebrows and lips. Divide the bottom half of the circle into four equal parts. The first is the eyebrow line, the second is the upper eyelash line, the third is the lower eyelash line.

Draw the chin. Distance between bottom edge circle and the bottom of the chin should be equal to a quarter of the diameter of the circle. Schematically draw the eyebrows, eyes, lines of the mouth and nose.

Draw the ears. The top of each ear should be no higher midline eyes, and - end slightly above the line of the mouth. Draw the eye, highlighting the highlights. Use thin lines to highlight the upper eyelids.

Draw a neck of harmonious length. The top hairline should be slightly higher than the originally drawn circle. Use subtle touches to accentuate bangs and full, shoulder-length hair.

Use a pencil to draw strands of hair and a shadow under the chin.

Draw the entire image in detail. Highlight the eyes, leaving the highlights white.

You can color an anime drawn in pencil with watercolors or gouache. Once you've completely finished the anime in color, let it dry completely. Then draw along the pencil lines with black gel pen or rapidograph.

How can a person who has never picked up a pencil or brush learn to draw anime? Using traditional patterns for anime will not only make beautiful image, but also learn the basic laws of this style.

Hello everyone, now the topic of drawing is hair, a rather complex topic, but if you follow the lessons carefully, you will succeed! Also, don’t forget about your imagination! Good luck!

Step 1
- -
Drawing hair can be one of the most difficult parts of drawing an anime/manga character, and can be used to change the look and personality of a character. This tutorial is a bit like a guide to the many styles and looks!

Step 2
- -
When I draw a hairstyle, I start with the hair around the face. This creates the foundation for the rest of the hair, and is quite important because it creates the face. There are many types and styles, with or without tips, flowing over the face or swept away. The hair strands are very important (since that's how the hair grows, they should be drawn in one direction), I almost always start at the roots and top of the head and then draw downwards, ending at the base of the head at the back. The picture shows several basic varieties, and from them you can create hundreds of hairstyles (for men and women).

Step 3
- -
I decided to work with the first example for this step and draw the woman's hair. After drawing the bangs, you can start creating the rest of the hair. You can draw the hairstyle you like, but I will work with a half ponytail and half loose hairstyle. I start by drawing the hair, which is pulled back into a ponytail from the edge line to the back of the head. Because I used a lot of hair more lines to emphasize this. Then I move to draw the top of the tail. I added small details, short strands to make the ponytail more lively and show the hierarchy of hair lengths. Finally I add hair that flows down, hanging over her shoulders. Remember, hair is not heavy, but it is also weightless!

Step 4
- -
A guy's hair can change his personality. Long flowing hair can make him seem more feminine, emotional, or carefree. Whereas, having hair cut short or very slicked can make a guy appear more masculine, serious, or irritable. Here is an example of a hairstyle with smooth hair of medium length. It doesn't matter if you're drawing long or short hair, follow the same rules, starting at the face and drawing with the strands that grow the hair. If you find it difficult to draw hairstyles, study your own, a friend's, friends', or magazines (no excuses, do yours homework ^ _ ^)

Step 5
- -
Hairstyle elements:
Now that you know how to draw a hairstyle in general, I'll show you how to draw the elements in more detail!

1. This is wavy hair, quite ordinary. Often people have short hair that starts to curl, but as the length increases, the weight of the hair straightens the curls. Add small details to the inside of the waves to create more realistic hair!

2. Curly hair is perhaps the most difficult to draw due to the details. It takes a little practice drawing curls, it's worth it. Add small curly strands at the base for a cute yet realistic effect.
3. Wavy but wilder. Draw the strands in various directions to give the style a dirty, casual look.

4. Straight hair, typical of Asian people, is also found in many cultures. There are layered and “with smooth edges”, the first have a soft end, the second - straight hair that has been cut across. They are basically drawn the same way, but they look different.

5. These are strands short hair, combining all styles, wavy or spiky. There are also small curls on short curly hair.

Step 6
- -
Drawing braided hair is also difficult to depict, here are a few examples.

1. This is a regular braid, made of 3 strands. First draw from the top (As always) and slowly downwards, interweaving the strands. Draw the lines of the main strand of the one closest to you more naturally, and when you draw, just follow the arrows! Simple, huh?

2. Curled hair. Most people do not perceive this hair style properly, but in the Illustrations it looks impressive. Draw the main lines of the section first, then go back and close the gaps on the other side. Since it is simpler than a regular braid, you can use it instead of a regular braid and it will look just as impressive!

3. Bunches. They can be done without pulling the ponytail all the way through the hair tie. Others do it by wrapping the entire hair in a bun and then securing it with bobby pins. Remember that hair has texture, so don't draw a flat round ball!

4. Tails! The first example is wavy hair and a little layered. Some of the top hairs do not reach the ends of the other, long ones. Long and straight hair is the next example, you can also weave the strands. The braid again, this is what it looks like when it starts in a ponytail. Finally a rat's tail. There are more anime guys! Don't forget that when the hair is not braided it is long, then when it is tied it becomes shorter, and then when it is braided it becomes even shorter. Keep this in mind when drawing ^_^

Step 7
- -
Here are a few good examples as various styles the hair sits, look, completely different styles, but a very similar hairstyle. I also drew examples for wavy/curly and straight hair blowing in the wind. With wavy hair it will be more difficult and messy than with straight hair, but both will have strands of hair flying away ^ _ ^

Now it's up to you! remember what more practice, the better you will draw (and the crazier hair styles!) it will be easier to plan out your hair, the skill will come to you gradually, and you don’t have to be upset if it doesn’t work out the first time. If you don't have an idea, then play with your own hair or friends, look in magazines and on the internet, you will get inspiration in no time!

Now many young people are interested in drawing in the anime style. Let's try to figure it out together - what is it and how to draw it all correctly?

Step 1

Draw the chin and cheeks. Focus on drawing them the same on both sides. Although it may look simple, even the slightest mistake can make the drawing look unattractive.

Step 2

Draw the neck. Notice how thin it is.

Step 3

Draw the nose and mouth. Most anime artists draw the nose and mouth VERY small. However, some people don't do this, so decide for yourself.

Step 4

Add eyes. Notice how far apart and how close to the nose they are.

Step 5

Add eyebrows. Notice how much longer they are relative to the eyes.

Step 6

Add the ears and you have created a face. Notice that I added a hairline. Big head...
Please note: the angle of the ear is directed towards the eye.

3/4 view.
About the average head size (for anime). It doesn't look very attractive until you add hair. Hair is such a big part of anime that it requires a separate tutorial.

The guy's facial structure is different (in most cases). Guys' faces are usually more elongated and their chins are more pronounced.

When drawing a guy's neck, you can draw it similar to a girl's neck (but usually only for young boys, including teenagers). Or, as shown, you can draw it more developed.

Side view
Man and woman - style 1
More realistic and more pronounced. Their noses don't end sharply. Their eyes are smaller. Guys' chins are more prominent than girls'.

Man and woman - style 2
Their head is more round. Their eyes are bigger.
You can draw an almost straight line from the tip of your nose to your chin. (i.e. lips and chin are weakly defined - approx. per.)

General methods face shading
There are many ways to shade a face, here are a few.
Try to leave a little space between the shadow and the nose.
Sometimes there are highlights above the cheek and on the lip.

Drawing eyes
Drawing simple eye
Step 1.

Draw a shape like this to make the white base of the eye.
It will only serve as a guide and you will erase it when you are finished.

Step 2

From each corner, draw a line directed outward, then connect them with an arc.

Step 3

After creating the arcs, paint over the resulting shapes.

Step 4

Add the shapes shown.

Step 5

Color in these shapes and add a sketch of the iris.
Erase the guide lines and you're done. Now you have a simple eye.

Drawing more compound eyes
Step 6

Continue from step 5, draw some eyelashes from the top left corner of the eye.

Step 7

Creating “soft” eyelashes.

Create"soft" eyelashes on both ends of the upper eyelid. See instructions above. (Instructions: Draw the lines very close together. At the end of each stroke, release pressure on the pencil (or XD tablet) to create soft ends.)
Step 8

Add small eyelashes to the lower eyelid.

Step 9

Add folds above the eye and you have created eyelids.

Remember that the eyelids are usually very thick and have no large quantity eyelashes raised up like a real eye
Drawing the iris and pupil
If you have a tablet, sketch out the iris (like the eye above) and take advantage of your graphics program to create some truly amazing anime eyes.
Since not everyone has a tablet, I will draw the iris and pupil as if with a pencil.
Step 1

Draw the base of half the pupil.

Step 2

Fill in, moving from a darker shade to a lighter one (using a gradient).

Step 3

Add shadows at the top and base.

Step 4

Some artists add a second ring.

Step 5

Add plenty of highlights and you're done.
When observing professional anime artists in galleries, I noticed that almost all anime artists draw them from similar angles.

On a face looking directly at you, the eyes are sometimes placed at an angle (arrows illustrate this angle).

A common misconception is that what bigger face goes into a 3/4 turn, the further that eye (the eye farthest from you - approx. per) will move towards the edge of the face. It is not right!
Do you see the shapes limiting the area with the eyes? Let me say that these lines are guides.
The greater the angle of rotation relative to you, the smaller and narrower the guide lines will be (at the far end of the figure - approx.), but they do not change their position.

This is one of the few angles where you should draw the eye at the edge of the face.

Drawing closed eyes.
If the eyes arch downwards (like a U), then the character is sleeping, meditating (thinking) or is in a peaceful state.
If the eyes arch upward, the character is very happy or smiling.

Different eyes
Remember, you should not draw eyes “strictly according to the template”. Be creative, combine and mix various ways to create your own unique eyes.
Many anime style eyes have a slanted upper eyelid:

Round eyes:

Cat or snake eyes:

Eyes used for zombies or hypnotized characters:

When drawing eyes with tears, make the drops large and draw the highlights/reflections in the eye more than you would normally do.

Side view of the eye.
Keep your distance. Pay attention to how far the eye is (from the bridge of the nose - approx. per.).

Drawing Noses and Mouths
Mouths and noses (in anime) are usually quite small compared to the rest of the face. In anime-style pictures, the main emphasis is usually on the eyes.

Drawing Anime Ears
Almost every anime artist draws ears differently. Draw creatively! Ears can be anything you want for different characters, so have fun with them.

Drawing bangs.
There are many ways to draw anime bangs.
This tutorial divides bangs into two categories: bangs with a certain organization of strands (in the future, for brevity, I will call them combed bangs - translator's note) and random bangs.
Combed bangs.
Combed bangs are bangs that cover the entire forehead, and perhaps most bangs that are commonly drawn. However, there may be certain features when drawing them, since they are not straight.
Point and Guide Method.
Step 1.

This helps in creating the first guide lines. Create a dot or circle directly above the face.

Step 2.

Create a guide curve. Outline the boundaries of the large strands of bangs. Please note that all lines are directed towards the point.
Each strand of hair will follow the same curve as the guide.

Step 3.

Start sketching each strand.
Remember to maintain the consistency of the bends and draw the strands in the direction of the point.

Step 4.

Finish sketching out the bangs.
Please note that the middle strand serves as a way to mark the middle (line of facial symmetry - translator's note). The bangs on both sides of the middle strand bend in different directions.

Step 5.

Clean up your sketch or outline the strands.

You can also add more bangs.

The point and guide method used above was also used for this illustration. The point was placed much higher to make the bends in the strands smaller.

Side view
Step 1.

This is the same guiding principle used in the Point and Guide Method. The only difference is that it is rotated.

Step 2.

Start sketching each strand. Draw curves where the guide line bends and make the end of the strand where the guide stops.

Step 3.

Erase guides and lines that you don't want to see. Remember to adapt the guide and change it to suit your character's personality.

If you draw strands by picking a point on another strand and going from there, your bangs will probably look like this. The strands will likely be deformed and further separated, and will give the same effect as shown in the picture to the right. Drawing in this manner is best used for spiky hair.

By drawing the whole strands and then going back and erasing the unwanted parts so that it is not noticeable, you can get straight strands that look combed like the one shown here.

Bangs don't always have to be that V-shaped. By changing the type of tips you can get completely different looks.

Step 1: Draw a straight line and give it a curve near the tip.
Step 2. Draw a straight line (or it can have a bend that suits you).
Step 3: Add a few thin strands here and there.

Step 1. Draw two lines.
Step 2: Make additions that look like two ends or strands, then connect them.
Step 3: Add a few thinner strands of bangs to give it more variety.

V-shaped Hair. Eyes.
Hair can become a problem when it's covered important features character, especially the eyes. Although the following methods are not realistic, they are often used as alternatives.
Method 1.

Finish your bangs before they start to fall into your eyes. This is the most common technique commonly used.

Method 2.

Draw the eyes on top of the hair.

Method 3.

Draw the hair over the eyes, but make the outline of the eyes visible.

Messy bangs
Messy bangs... well... messy. They may or may not follow a specific pattern, and they are usually divided into parts that can point in completely different directions.
Guide Points Guide points (like the point in the Point and Guide Method) should help you keep your bangs under control.
Step 1. There are countless options, but it helps to try different bangs and hairstyles.

Drawing hair attached to the head above the forehead

The wedges on the hairline should be aligned along the line of symmetry of the face.

Remember that the hair is not glued to the head. They have volume even when pulled back.
Hair detailing isn't just about how many lines you add or the number of strands of bangs that allow you to convey a character's personality. Many details can be added through shadows and highlights.

How to learn to draw anime?

Anime characters have long become favorites of millions of teenagers and young people around the world. This cartoon genre, which originated in Japan, is very popular today and has its own characteristics. If you know all the nuances, then learning to draw anime is not at all difficult.

The image of a guy or girl in this style differs from the usual drawing with large, wide-open eyes, a small, inconspicuous nose and mouth without prominent lips. In addition, anime characters long hair in the form of separate strands and disproportionately long legs.

Stage 1: sketching

Anime style makes very cute girls. Every aspiring artist can learn to draw images of women by following certain rules. You will need a sheet of paper and a simple pencil.

Stage 2: drawing the face

  1. In accordance with the applied markings, clearly draw the upper eyelid, pupil and iris of the eye.
  2. An anime girl's pupil should be elongated vertically and have a dark color.
  3. The iris is a little lighter.
  4. The lower eyelid does not need to be drawn out carefully; a thin line is enough.
  5. Eyebrows will be thin. They need to be depicted quite far from the eyes.
  6. Now you need to draw a small sketchy nose.
  7. Immediately below it you should draw a mouth in the form of a thin horizontal line. There is no need to perform lips.
  8. The ears will be at the level of the tip of the nose.
  9. Let's make the chin small and pointed.
  10. Now all that remains is to outline the hairline and draw the strands, loosening them or putting them in a hairstyle.

Stage 3: drawing the body

Let's move on to the body. For an anime girl you need to draw:

  • thin neck,
  • graceful hands,
  • designate thin waist,
  • hip line,
  • lush breasts.
  • your legs will be slender and unusually long.

You need to come up with clothes and depict them on the body. The body, unlike the head, is made according to the rules of the classical design.

When all the details of the drawing have become clear and expressive, you can erase the extra lines and start coloring. Anime characters always have contrasting colors, bright details. Hair can be any color, even the most unexpected. The same can be said about clothes. When drawing anime, you don't need to darken or lighten individual areas.

First, let's get acquainted a little with the drawing style itself.

Where do you think the first anime was filmed? I think most of you guessed right, this is naturally Japan (1917). It is clear that at first they were quite far from those we are looking at now.

How to draw anime?

The first thing that catches your eye is this is anime drawing style. Emotions are quite expressive, since there are many ways, gestures, to convey the character and mood of the characters.

In order to learn how to draw anime, you need to understand what features they have and how they are characteristic.

Features of drawing anime characters

1. Eyes- this is the first advantage of anime characters. Large, very bright, with detailed reflections, there are even several levels and types of reflections. A closed eyes can be drawn quite simply, with just a few lines.

2. Face- nose and mouth, cheekbones are not given much attention. They are drawn with very thin, small lines.

3. Fantasies- in anime, characters cannot always be realistic, they may have hair different colors (up to red, green, blue, etc.), cat ears and much more.

4. Building a body- since there is no concept of realism in anime, choose your own standards and proportions of the character. When drawing a tiny " " (sort of a cute little anime character) use the most simple technique drawing. This style is suitable for beginners and we will look at it a little later.

Although personally, I have seen very drawn and detailed drawings of Chibi.

5. Drawing a face- which is based on an oval. We will look at this topic a little later, because this moment Unfortunately, I haven’t prepared it yet. The face is characteristic big eyes. We draw lips and mouth in anime style, usually the mouth is small (depending on emotions). The basis of the face is an oval and it is worth starting to draw with the oval.

6. Drawing hair- you should not draw hair in small sections, but it is advisable to outline the whole mass at once, but do not forget that they do not come in pieces, but in strands!

7. Drawing clothes- there are no limits to imagination here. It can be anything: from a simple school uniform to a costume, for example, a cat.
